“I don’t think I’ve ever slept that long after drinking coffee. I guess you drink a lot more than I do.” The boy gives a confused look a few moments more, before looking serious again.
“Please try not to vanish that long again, though. You know, it was really worrying to not have one of the bosses I look up to in the defense force there! When you’re irresponsible like that, people do worry, you know!”

“You… look up to me?”
Did Shinichi enter some bizarre alternate universe again where everything appears to be normal, but an albino boy dies and the whole city is just screaming in panic until they find relief in star-shaped objects and fictional money? Damnit, we have a lot of albino boys. We can’t afford to lose Hotsuin, Art or Hotsuin (female version) now.
Man, he had a rough time. It sure would be convenient if all of that disappeared someday in some kind of reset. Ha! But what are the chances of that?
But seriously, where is he? I thought nobody looked up or even respected Shinichi Kudou. You know, it being the result of him being a dick and being overly addicted to coffee all the time. Geez, should have said he’s been at Coffeeholic Anonymous for the past two months. At least that would have brought forth some kind of good thing.
“Oh, gee, I’m sorry.” The detective said; finally, after that long fourth wall breaking narrative monologue, reaching out his hand to pet Ken on the head. “I’ll try not to disappear without saying anything again, I promise.”
“Thanks for worrying about me, reliable Assistant-kun.”
