Perhaps he had gone a little overboard tonight.
Drinking really wasn’t that bad most times he chose to partake in it. He would just have glass or two of wine, maybe one cup of Guinness, and that would be it. But he had come back from being gone several months, tidying the store was exhausting and irritating, and he had various thoughts running through his head that he’d rather ignore. Thus why he’d drank a little more than usual and was feeling the effects soon after.
