It took a while for Conan to get back to his place after his treasure hunt. His hands were dirty, but the trip was worth it. He safely stored the vial away in one of his drawers, so now it was time for a letter. After he washed his hands of course.
Taking a pen and some paper, he started writing:
Dear Mayor of Toshi City,
Thank you for the treasure hunt. I found something and I will hold it dear to me. It’s a present from you, after all.
Okay, this part was a lie. The vial and message he found earlier was just important evidence for now. A clue to help him solve the mystery behind Toshi’s mayor. Would the mayor tell him who he was? Who knows. He continued writing again.
I have a few questions regarding the treasure I found though.
First: perhaps you know anyone by the name of Rose? The names Ross or Rosy might apply as well. I was wondering if anyone important to this city had one of those names long ago. It might be a last name too. Else, disregard it.
Second: would it be possible to tell me who you are? I find it peculiar you don’t show your face or reveal your identity. Or perhaps it is meant to be kept a secret to all? I’m not sure how to trust a mayor without face or name.
Shit. This sounded way too intellectual for a 6-year-old. Not that Conan paid much attention to that normally though.
Third: I’m quite interested in the history of this city’s past. Would it be alright for me to look into it? Perhaps you could tell me where to find some interesting information. Toshi City is perfect after all. I want to know more about its creation.
Well then, that’s all. I don’t have anything light to send you as a thank you gift, so please accept my words of appreciation instead. Perhaps expect more letters from me in the future.
Yours faithfully,
Conan bit his lip. The mayor couldn’t possibly know a small child sent this, right? But if he put in his real name, it might not arrive. Well, it was worth the try. His real identity had a registered address in this city as well. He just had to be sure to check it later.

Finally, he was done. The young boy took the message and stood up. He then tied the message to the dove and set the animal free again through the window. Thank god it was gone now. It trashed Conan’s whole room already while he was out.
