Ran stared at him for a moment - in shock. Shinichi…Is this… Ran lightly pinched her arm to ensure herself she wasn’t dreaming as she stared at the teenage boy before her.
“Shinichi! You…You…Baka!” Ran yelled throwing her arms to her side. Of course she missed him that should not have even been a doubt in his mind. She’d wanted to continue yelling at him for his long term absence and infrequent phone calls but she couldn’t get herself to.
Ran’s eyes softened as she looked to him, her lips quivering.
“I missed you…”
“Idiot.. It’s nothing be so dramatic over” Shinichi muttered, putting his hands into his pockets. Well, he didn’t really blame Ran. She had been waiting for him all this time and… maybe even he would get emotional over this himself? Nah. He had always remained by her side after all.
“Sorry I have been gone for so long, I…” he paused, not really feeling like he could give her a decent excuse. Since he is here as ‘Shinichi’ now, he should tell her something meaningful, right? Something that would comfort her for a little longer since this probably wouldn’t last forever. Something… aah, nevermind. Let’s start simple first.
