Ran eyes widened at the floor when he’d said her name so informally. Shinichi. It seemed he was still constantly weighing heavily on the girl’s mind - she was till simply waiting… She might always be waiting - she’d told herself that many times but it never bothered her as much as it did now. While she was so completely alone. She’d never realized before how much her family and friends had gotten her through Shinichi’s absence until she was alone and had to do it on her own.
As she’d heard the boys tiny subtle correction - the corners of her mouth upturned into a smile. He was still the same, always making silly mistakes that lead her to get the wrong idea. I’d missed this so much… I miss everything so much. Ran thought to herself as the boy had jumped off the couch enthusiastically at her suggestion.
“Alright” Ran said turning to him with a small but noticeable smile on her face. “Let me just..“ She began as she’d walked towards the kitchen where her purse had been on the table, she quickly snatched it and turned back to him. “Got it” Ran stated as she’d walked to the door throwing on her shoes and then heading outside - making sure Conan was by her side.
“Maybe we could go have your favorite dish after we enjoy the park scenery? How’s that?” Ran questioned her tone and emotions really perking up. She’d felt - happy!
“My favourite? Yay!” Conan beamed at her, trying to show off the childhish side of him to assure Ran that he is indeed Shinichi. “I haven’t eaten that in a while.”

It took them a while to reach River Park. The air was clean and the atmosphere quite tranquil. Although perhaps it was a mistake to lead Ran here, as the calmth also left a lot of room for thought. Maybe a busier place would have been better because Conan also wasn’t sure of what to say.
“Has Ran-neechan been here before? I’ve been here lots of times already!”
