Ran could see the small child hesitate as if he were telling some sorta of a lie, but the again Ran had many times thought that. She’d probably simply driven herself into seeing things that were just not there. It pained her so and this time, she’d decided to ignore it and just try to be happy. Spend time with him before he’d headed home. She should feel lucky he’d come to visit at all after all the times she’d accused him of things.
Ran turned her head from him and lowered her eyes to her lap. “Of course" Ran replied “Your a really smart boy, it’d be a shame if you didn’t get to use your full potential" Ran finished her words softly as she stood to her feet, her head still lowered and eyes fixed to the floor.
“Would you like to get out of here? I think it’d do me some good to see the outside… You can pick the place?” Ran offered. She’d been cooped up inside for days watching her roommates come in and out. She’d definitely needed some kind of fresh air - she wasn’t feeling at all herself.
“Ran…” Conan’s words clogged up in his throat at seeing the other in such a state. Finally, after a little while, he remembered he still had to pretend he was a child.
“Ran-neechan” he quickly corrected himself, his voice a little louder this time. He couldn’t even call her by her name like “Shinichi” could, so for now this had to do, right?

He immediately nodded at Ran’s suggestion to go outside and jumped up from the couch. “Hmn!” he smiled, walking over to the door. “Let’s go, Ran-neechan. We can go to the park. It’s really calm there.”
