Conan-kun… Ran didn’t say anything at first as she looked down to the child smiling up at her - though his smile held nothing but sadness.
“Conan-kun” Ran said aloud this time opening the door fully with her own painful smile shining on her face. “What a surprise to see you here" Ran lied. She’d known this was where Conan had gone and honestly she’d hoped to run into him much sooner but that was not in their fate. Ran had always counted on destiny to bring her together with the people she’d loved although many times it failed her - her hope remained strong.
“Come in, I’ll make you something to eat. Are you thirsty?” Ran questioned simply out of instinct. Ran was use to making dinners for her father and Conan-kun both at the agency and she quite liked it. Every bit of it actually, from the purchase to the table. Although, it was mostly because it meant that someone was there with her - eating and enjoying each others company. Now she’d gotten none of that.
“Hmn. Can I have some juice?” he asked, walking into the room and looking around a little. For some reason, the atmosphere felt sad and painful, so he decided he had to do something. He was here to cheer Ran up, right? So he had to.

“So I heard Ran-neechan moved into Toshi too!” Conan sat down on the couch his mun assumed Ran must have and swayed with his legs a little. “Lucky! I really missed you. Is uncle Kogorou doing okay?”
